Royal Family International Auditions 2024

About The Royal Family International Workshops and Auditions

For the first time in the history of The Royal Family we are going to hold auditions outside of New Zealand to become part of The Royal Family Dance Crew in 2024.

The auditions will take place on Italy on Sunday 8th October 2023. To be part of the auditions you must attend two days of workshops on the 6th & 7th October 2023 and learn 8 routines in preparation for Sunday auditions.

If you are successful and get selected then you will be required to relocate to New Zealand at the end of January 2024 to train and perform with The Royal Family for the year. You will also be part of our Royal Family Europe Tour in October 2024 where you will return back on stage for your family and friends to see you perform live in black and gold.

This opportunity will happen every two years in Europe so if you feel you are beast enough now then register yourself to follow your dreams and become part of the worlds most successful dance crew - The Royal Family.

Workshops:

Friday 6 October 2023 10.00am - 6.00pm

Saturday 7 October 2023 10.00am - 6.00pm

To be eligible for auditions, it is manditory you attend BOTH DAYS of workshops 

Audition Details:

Solos Friday 6 October 2023 7.00pm - 9.00pm*

Saturday 7 October 2023 2023 7.00pm - 9.00pm*

Sunday 8 October 2023 10.00am - 4.00pm**

*Dancers will be divided into 4 groups prior to auditions (you will be identified by a coloured wristband). Your group will perform solos one either one of these evenings. This will be communicated to you prior to the start of the workshops.

**We will shortlist auditions to 80 dancers at 12.30pm and then to 20 dancers at 2.30pm. 

If you are not selected, you will not be required to stay for the rest of the day.

Music

Dancers will need to prepare a 1-minute solo (strictly 1 minute only).

Music must be provided on USB with your name clearly labelled on it and hand it in during the allocated registration times above. Alternatively, this can be emailed to royalfamily@thepalacedancestudio.co.nz Please use your name as the subject line in the email, this must be sent by 5.00pm, Wednesday 4 October 2023. Music must be edited before submitting and you cannot use your phone. All music must have no swearing, suggestive lyrics or language.
